FG Properties provide luxury apartments in London and a number of top cities in Europe. We recently visited London for a weekend when my brother Jake and his girlfriend Jackie flew in from Australia to begin their four months of travelling around the UK and Europe. We thought the best way to spend time together would be in an apartment which allowed us to relax, catch up and feel like locals in this very exciting city! We were happy with our choice to stay with FG Properties in our luxurious, fully furnished London apartment.
Our apartment was on the third floor of the building and overlooked the beautiful tree lined, terraced street below. The street and neighbourhood was beautiful, peaceful and allowed us to feel very much like London locals which we loved!
We really enjoyed relaxing in the lounge room which had a comfortable lounge which seated 4 people, flat screen TV, complimentary Wi-Fi (which was very speedy) and a dining table and chairs. The whole apartment was stylish and decorated well and they had certainly made the most of the space available. The lounge and flat were lovely and bright during the day as the windows let in plenty of natural light which we loved!
We love staying in apartments when we travel mostly for the fact that we can cook for ourselves. Our kitchen was very modern and everything we could possibly want or need to whip up a feast was provided for us. Plenty of pots, pans, glasses, cutlery, crockery, baking dishes, clean products etc were all provided. The kitchen had a microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge, freezer, oven, dishwasher and washer machine for our use. Everything we needed was available and we were very happy with our spotlessly clean the kitchen and whole apartment were when we arrived.
The apartment had two double bedrooms and also a sofa bed which pulls out so that the flat can sleep 6. It was certainly spacious enough for the four of us and the bedrooms all had plenty of storage and there was extra pillows and bedding if we needed it. We all slept perfectly in our beds as they were extremely comfortable and both the beds had lovely warm duvets.
The bathroom was modern, spotlessly clean and luxurious toiletries and towels were provided.
The only issue we had during our stay was when we arrived late on the first evening we discovered that the heating and hot water was not working. We tested the boiler for a while but after we had no luck we called the after hours phone number where they advised that someone would be around at 10am to fix it for us. A tradesman arrived at 10am and spent about 20 minutes working on the boiler before he realised that someone had simply not topped up the gas for the apartment when it was made up before our stay. Luckily it was the only negative throughout our stay and we understand that mistakes do sometimes happen, but hope that this experience will not happen to others as you certainly would expect to have heating and hot water in your apartment. Once the gas was sorted we warmed up the apartment, all took hot showers and really began to enjoy our stay in our beautiful London apartment.
Our luxury apartment was ideally located less than a 5 minute walk to both Earls Court and West Kensington Tube Stations. We found it was a fantastic base to explore London and we could reach most parts of London very quickly due to the great transport links from these stations. We decided to spend our weekend exploring parts of London that we hadn't yet visited and spent our day exploring Notting Hill, Portobello Road Markets and Camden Town. We couldn't have been happier with the location of our apartment and had a fantastic weekend exploring London and showing Jake and Jackie around!
We had a fantastic weekend in London and despite the issue with our heating we still enjoyed our apartment and would use FG Properties again on a future trip to London. We love the independence and privacy that these affordable but luxurious self contained apartments provide and love how they made us feel like London locals!
The Aussie Flashpacker was welcomed to FG Properties as a guest.
