Bays, Beaches, Boats & Sydney Sunsets

After 40 odd hours of travel we have made it to Sydney! YAY! It was a seriously long, long journey and anyone who has ever flown from London to Sydney will attest to that fact. We arrived to the most spectacular weather (even though it is still officially Winter in Australia) and I am pretty sure we were the only people wearing shorts and t-shirts but we are absolutely loving the sunshine and truly making the most of it! We spent yesterday exploring beautiful Watson's Bay, relaxing at the beach, watching surfers at Manly Beach and marvelling at the sunset over beautiful Sydney Harbour.

Bolney Wine Estate Grand Gourmet Tour

On Sunday we ventured out into the gorgeous Sussex countryside to visit Bolney Wine Estate. Bolney is a beautiful English Vineyard set in the heart of Sussex amongst the Sussex Downs and is truly of the most beautiful locations in England. We spent our morning and early afternoon exploring the vineyard on a guided tour, learning about the history of English wine and Bolney Wine Estate, tasting 5 of Bolney's award winning wines in a tutored tasting and finishing off with a locally sourced, delicious buffet lunch. It truly was the perfect Sunday!

Top Things to do in Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos Islands

This little island is what started my lust to become an expat. I was lucky enough to get to live there for three months in 2009 while volunteering at the only museum in the country. During that time, I met other expats and I knew that I wanted to live abroad. However, Grand Turk is my favorite island getaway! Since living there, I have visited twice.

The Perfect Family Holiday: New Zealand by Camper Van

Today's is throwback/blast from the past kinda post. We are in the process of planning our 2016 travels for when we leave England in April next year and are getting seriously excited! So far have booked a Croatia Sailing Trip with Medsailors in May and yesterday we booked a camper van in Portugal with Soul Campers to explore the stunning Portuguese Coast in April for a week. Booking the Camper Van brought back excitement & memories from my first overseas trip, a camper van trip around New Zealand with my family back in 2003!

I love a Sunburnt Country... Twenty Things I miss about Australia

Anyone who has met an Aussie abroad will know that we LOVE our country and well, love to talk about how much we love it. I do (like most) think we are the luckiest country in the world and as much as I love travelling, the more I travel, the more I realise this is true. As most of you know, I moved to the UK almost 18 months ago and as much as I love our life in the UK, there's a lot of things I seriously miss about Australia.

Exploring England's South Coast with our Aussie Visitors

We are lucky enough to live in a very beautiful part of the UK. You'll find us in a village in the gorgeous countryside pretty much halfway between London and Brighton. When I first moved to the UK I was a little taken aback and felt like we were kind of in the middle of no where but I quickly fell in love with our quiet village and love that we have the best of both worlds, living in the peaceful, beautiful countryside and still being less than an hours train ride to both the big city and also the sea side.

The South of England Show

The South of England Show is held annually just up the road from where we live, in Ardingly. This year on a weekend at home we woke up to a sunny, summers day and decided to head up the road and check out what it was all about! The South of England Show showcases the best of agriculture and farming across the South East region of England and features non stop displays and action in the arenas. In addition to the agriculture and farming, the finale of each day was a performance by the Bolddog's, a freestyle motorcycle display team in the main ring.

Travel Update: Our Australia Plans

In less than two weeks we are heading off on our next holiday and this time it is to AUSTRALIA! I never thought I would be this excited to be going on holidays in my own country, but it has been almost 16 months since I have been home and I cannot wait to see my friends and family, introduce Dan to everyone he hasn't met and go to the beach every single day! We've got a jam packed few weeks planned and wanted to share our rough itinerary for our three week trip!

To say we are a excited is an understatement, especially when this beach is pretty much in our backyard!

Timamoon, the 'most seductive lodge on the planet’

So you’ve tracked a leopard through the bush, scaled the lofty heights of Table Mountain (yeah, the cable car counts!), and consumed more wine than is probably advisable. The end of your trip to South Africa is in sight, yet whilst you’re exhausted you don’t want to come down from your high just yet.

This is where Timamoon steps in.

Exploring Leeds Castle - The Loveliest Castle in the World

Leeds Castle is located in Kent and is lovingly known as "The Loveliest Castle in the World". I've been lucky enough to see a decent number of castles in all my travels, and I think that Leeds Castle deserves its nickname. It is a truly beautiful castle, surrounded by a moat and 500 acres of gorgeous grounds and gardens. We took my mum & dad there when they came to visit and it was their first castle they saw in the UK and to say they were blown away was an understatement!

An Elegant Stay at the Mercure Salisbury White Hart Hotel

We recently visited Salisbury on our way to Cornwall and spent an evening at the elegant Mercure White Hart Hotel. The hotel is ideally located in the centre of the city and is only a five minute walk from the Salisbury Cathedral. It was a perfect place to stay to begin our holiday!

Luxury on a Budget: Sri Lanka

Anyone who knows me, has read my blog or seen my Instagram will tell you that I loved my holiday to Sri Lanka last year. Any time I have the opportunity to flick through my photos or talk to someone about Sri Lanka I will! The best bit? The compromise that my boyfriend and I were able to find: I wanted luxury, he wanted a tight budget. Well, well, well – we managed to make sure that both of us were satisfied!

We were in this beautiful country for three weeks last August, so I’m going to give you the highlights of our tour and how to do Sri Lanka on a budget, and still manage to get your fair share of luxury!

My Ultimate UK Bucket List

Dan and I recently applied for his visa for Australia. The whole process can take up to 14 months to be approved which means we still have quite a while in the UK and we are planning a huge trip around Europe when we leave our jobs, but I also want to see as much of the UK (and Ireland) as I can before we leave.

It's silly I know, but I'm scared of missing out on things. I'm scared we'll go back to Australia and someone will say "did you go to ..." or "how awesome is ..." So I have made it my mission to compile an ultimate bucket list of EVERYTHING I must see, do, eat, visit etc!

Exploring The Oregon Coast

I was fortunate enough to be able to move to the Oregon Coast last summer. When I was getting ready to move, I can’t tell you how many people said “oh geez, I don’t think I could handle how gloomy it is there” or “I hear a lot people get super depressed due to the weather”.

I honestly think that it’s one of those Iceland vs Greenland things, where way back someone started spreading a rumor that the Oregon Coast is a dreary wasteland just to keep people from over populating it like southern California. My husband has actually told me to stop telling everyone how great it is, so we can keep it all to ourselves, but I can’t help myself!
