I'd planned to do this post at the beginning of this month but January has just whizzed by so fast! 2015 was a great year where we travelled the UK quite extensively and also spent almost a month in Australia. 2016 is shaping up to be even bigger and even better already with adventures planned in 12 countries! We wanted to share our plans so far and also the destinations that are on our wanderlust wishlist for this year!
Bursting with Wanderlust, Luxury, Adventure, Travel tips & Inspiration it aims to inspire you to travel and see the world.

After visiting the true city of love, Paris for our first anniversary we decided on naturally beautiful country of Switzerland for our second anniversary. After falling in love with Grindelwald in the Swiss Alps we then headed to the lovely city of Lucerne. I visited Lucerne on my Contiki tour in 2009 and had good memories of it so we decided to visit it together! Lucerne is such a lovely city that has so much character, lovely buildings and a wonderful atmosphere in addition to its natural beauty and we had a wonderful time exploring her beauty.

I absolutely LOVE London and truly find it to be one of the most exciting cities in the world. Not long before I moved to the UK in 2014 I found my old travel journal from when I backpacked around Europe when I was 19 and the first line of it said something along the lines of "Oh my gosh I love London. I am definitely moving here one day!" My two years in the UK is very quickly coming to an end and so when Travelex recently set us a challenge to plan the best day possible in London with $150 AUD and I knew I was up for it! The worst part of moving to the UK (in addition to the rain) was seeing my poor Aussie dollars whittle down ridiculously fast with the value of the Australian Dollar and so I knew that I'd learnt a few things along the way that would help to make this day in London amazing!

The Ship Tavern is both a traditional Ale House and Dining Room and has been a part of Holborn's history since 1549! They pride themselves on offering what a British pub does best: good service, honest, home cooked British classic food and serving excellent ales! The Ship Tavern has been described as "Holborn’s best kept secret" and after a wonderful evening there we can certainly attest to that. After a big day of exploring London's sites we were both freezing and starving and it was immediate relief to step inside the restaurant to be greeted with wonderful warmth and delicious smells wafting from the kitchen.

On our last evening in Switzerland we still hadn't managed to track down a restaurant that would serve us Cheese Fondue. Whilst we were out searching for a restaurant for dinner in Lucerne we stumbled across a fondue restaurant and knew that we couldn't leave Switzerland without trying it. It was delicious and I cannot believe I am saying this... there was so much cheese, like way too much for two people! I'm glad we ticked it off our list but my advice - share it between a group of people, don't try and eat it as a main meal.

One of the things that was on the top of my UK Bucket List was to visit the Warner Brothers Harry Potter Studio Tour here in England. If you read on the blog about my visit to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios in Orlando then you will know I am a MASSIVE Harry Potter Fan. It only took a year and a half but I finally convinced Dan to let me book tickets and a few months later off we went for a magical day of all things Harry Potter at the Warner Brothers Harry Potter Studio Tour! It was also super lucky that we booked it just after the Hogwarts in the Snow attraction had begun for the winter season!

Today I wanted to share a short but sweet post about a gorgeous town I fell in love with when we were travelling around Ireland last year! Kinvara was just a town we were simply supposed to pass through on our drive along the Wild Atlantic Way to the Cliffs of Moher but ended up stopping and staying for a few hours as her charm won us over instantly.

After our exciting, busy trip to Australia (which you would have read about on the blog or in our August & September Monthly Recap) we've have had a fairly quiet few months back in the UK with the exception of a romantic getaway to the Swiss Alps for our anniversary and a lot of festivities over this holiday season! Our most exciting news though is that Dan's partner visa for Australia was approved! I checked my emails late one Friday afternoon in December to find an email from our Immigration case officer with a visa grant notification. We weren't expecting to receive it for another 6-8 months because when we applied we were told it would be a 14 month wait, and ours was approved in only SIX months! We've had plenty of celebrations and are SO excited to be heading back to Australia next year to start our lives there... but before that we've got PLENTY of exciting European holidays to be had and shared!
