Palais Amani is a luxury oasis located within the walls of the ancient Medina in Fez. Upon arriving you find yourself wandering the narrow, windy walkways of the Medina, unsure if these dark streets will lead you to the opulent palais you reserved online. From the second you reach the beautiful, large wooden door of Palais Amani you can only imagine the stunning location inside these doors. Within seconds of stepping inside Palais Amani you know you have chosen to stay in Fez’s best kept secret. Instantaneously you will fall in love with the beautiful tiled floors and pillars, one of the most gorgeous fountains I’ve ever seen, located centrally in the main courtyard and the magnificent gardens that fill the centre of the palace. Your love story with Palais Amani will continue to grow as you explore the rest of this wonderful Riad.
The staff at Palais Amani go above and beyond to ensure your stay is perfect and one you will remember for a long time. From the genuinely friendly, warm welcome we received on arrival to the countless special touches such as rose petals, mouthwatering home-made cookies and mint tea, to the housekeeping staff who looked after our room and the service provided at meal times, we could not rate the staff at Palais Amani anymore highly.
We stayed in a luxury suite; a room that was spacious yet intimate, beautifully decorated and dreamily spread over two floors. The high ceilings, mosaic floors and staircase, stunning decor and immaculate bathroom enhance the opulence of the palace. The luxury suites contain an comfortable and lovely salon, bathroom, master bedroom and en-suite upstairs. Every one of your needs is met in this luxury suite which contains a private sound system, WiFi, air-conditioning, luxury toiletries, TV, fine Egyptian hand embroidered linen and special touches such as rose petals, daily sweets and water bottles. The bed was also one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in of all hotels around the world I have stayed at!
Dining here is an experience in itself and only adds to the wonderful, luxurious treatment you receive as a guest at Palais Amani. Breakfast is served on the peaceful, dining terrace overlooking the stunning gardens and fountain below. The breakfasts were plentiful, delicious and beautifully presented. The amazing food just kept coming and coming and our breakfast waiter ensured we were well looked after.
We chose to dine in the Riad at night and I highly recommend this as a must for anyone staying at Palais Amani. We were given a private table next to the fountain that was lit with beautiful candles, music played softly in the background providing the most devine, romantic atmosphere. We chose the three course a la carte meal, created using seasonal produce from the local markets. The Chicken Tagine was mouthwatering and left you savouring every single bite of flavour. The lemon tart was without doubt the most delicious dessert I’ve ever had the luxury of eating, the flavours were so intense and incredible, my mouth is watering just thinking about it now! Palais Amani Fez is fine dining at it’s best.
Drinks on the rooftop terrace are the perfect way to finish off a busy day exploring Fez or just relaxing around the Riad. The rooftop terrace provides you with ample lounges, day beds and chairs enabling you to relax and take in the stunning 360° views of this magical city and the hills surrounding Fez. We spent our evenings relaxing, soaking in the amazing views, enjoying a few drinks from the bar whilst watching the sun dip behind the mountains.
Palais Amani provides a luxurious traditional hammam in it’s Les Bains Amani. Experiencing a hammam is essential when visiting Morocco, and the Hammam and Spa at Palais Amani is as they describe ‘a voyage of the senses’ and one that will leave you feeling as if you are floating for the rest of the day. The luxurious hammam at Palais Amani contains separate exfoliation room, showers and relaxation area, all which are designed and decorated impeccably, exuding peace and relaxation. The traditional Hammam involved a hand and foot bath, foot scrub, steam bath, body scrub, hair mask, shower and shampoo and massage. The hammam left me feeling beautiful, clean and incredibly relaxed. An absolute must when visiting Morocco.
Palais Amani is a tranquil and luxurious paradise and I guarantee you will fall in love with it just as I did. I adored every moment of my stay here and and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the magical city of Fez.
