Located in a quiet street, just minutes away from some of Paris’ most popular destinations, the Hidden Hotel could not be more aptly named. From the moment you arrive it is clear that this is a hotel with a difference, perfectly combining modern luxury, environmental consciousness and welcoming staff to provide a unique experience for its guests.
The staff are very warm, approachable, and with the ability to speak numerous languages including French, English and German, they are highly accommodating to their guests. The high level of service that ensured my stay was enjoyable, began from the moment I entered with the staff willing and able to provide information on everything from restaurants, tourist destinations and transport.
The service was also evident in the little details that the Hidden Hotel did so well, my personal favourite being the leather folder that comes with each room complete with your room number embossed on the front, this convenient item keeps all your important information together including Paris city map, room key and wifi codes. Speaking of wifi the hotel has high speed free wifi for all its guests which is available in all areas. Guests are supplied with individual passcodes per device, however there are no restrictions to how many passcodes you are able to access so you can conveniently connect your smart phone, tablet, laptop and any other wifi capable device you may happen to be travelling with.
The styling of the Hidden Hotel is as unique as it is luxurious, combining raw materials with textured fabrics to create a modern and welcoming feel for its guests. The hotel features inviting sitting areas both indoor and outdoor with everything from bar stools, table and chairs, and comfortable lounges to meet a variety of needs for its guests. These sitting areas also double as dining areas for the hotel’s delectable buffet breakfasts.
Arriving at my suite, the décor is continued and I arrived in an elegant room that through creative planning felt simultaneously spacious and intimate. The hotel’s clever use of various materials saw stone vanities, beautiful tiling, wooden desktops and bed heads, modern shower fittings, glass, soft gauzy fabrics and animal hide chairs all flawlessly paired together. The piece de resistance is of course the bed, surrounded with soft fabric with small conveniences like power points, lamps and room phone thoughtfully located on the headboard, and completed with a cocoa mat that ensures this bed is not only beautiful but delightfully comfortable. The rooms of course include a range of features to make the stay as comfortable and enjoyable for guests as possible including flat screen TV, rainforest shower head, additional shower jets and soft bathrobes. The hotel also prides itself on being environmentally conscious and this is evident in various details around the hotel including a master switch for all lights and electricity in each room.
Whilst the hotel does not have a restaurant located onsite, the breakfast most certainly does not disappoint with guests able to choose between one of two buffet breakfasts, or for those of you who are hungrier or simply can’t decide, why not try both?! One buffet features more of a traditional breakfast spread with pastries, salad, yoghurt and eggs or omelettes cooked to order just the way you like them and of course coffee, while the other has more of a brunch feel featuring a variety of salads and quiches just to name a few. What both of these delicious buffets have in common is that all items are organic and freshly cooked in house the day before, a pleasantly refreshing surprise that is in keeping with the hotel’s unique vibe. Guests have the choice of dining in either of the two breakfast buffet locations, or choosing from a selection of items to enjoy in the comfort of their room. The sitting area of the hotel located in the front lobby also features a bar which serves a variety of beverages including coffee, cocktails and wine to cater for all occasions and preferences. With 24hr bar service available guests are ensured that they will never go thirsty.
Located in central Paris in the 17th arrondisement, the Hidden Hotel is just a five minute walk from the Arc de Triomphe and Avenue Champs-Elysees, where you can easily lose yourself and your holiday budget in the many shops and cafes located along this busy street! With the Charles de Gaulle-Etoile Metro station a few minutes away, guests are able to quickly and conveniently access all the sites that Paris has to offer including Montmatre with its Sacre-Coeur Basilica, talented artists and of course the Moulin Rouge. As well as these famous sites the streets around the Hidden Hotel are filled with a variety of culinary options all within walking distance and in keeping with their superb level of service, the staff are happy to offer recommendations and make reservations if required.
The Hidden Hotel is most certainly worth the discovery ticking all the right boxes for location, service and luxury with difference and deliciously different vibe.
