In less than two weeks we are heading off on our next holiday and this time it is to AUSTRALIA! I never thought I would be this excited to be going on holidays in my own country, but it has been almost 16 months since I have been home and I cannot wait to see my friends and family, introduce Dan to everyone he hasn’t met and go to the beach every single day! We’ve got a jam packed few weeks planned and wanted to share our rough itinerary for our three week trip!
To say we are a excited is an understatement, especially when this beach is pretty much in our backyard!
Once we land after our 30 odd hour trip, we are planning on spending a few days in Sydney so that we can do all the touristy things, I can show Dan around and we can get over our jet lag! Initially we were planning on booking loads in such as doing the Harbour Bridge Climb, going to Taronga Zoo etc, but we’ve decided to not book anything in and just see how we feel, go to the beach, wander around Circular Quay and relax for those first few days. We’ll be living back in Australia in around a years time so there will be plenty of time to do those things then. Dan wants to see Bondi Beach and we’re also up for some coastal walks and finding some good cafes, so if anyone has any recommendations of walks, photo spots or cafes/restaurants etc please let us know!
We’re staying at some gorgeous hotels whilst we are in Sydney, both of which I have only heard fantastic things and so we are very excited! We’ll be staying at the gorgeous Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel and the Swissotel. Both are located in different areas in Sydney and we can’t wait to make the most of our locations and enjoy these hotels to the maximum!
After Sydney we’re off to Port Macquarie, my hometown which I miss more and more everyday! All together we’re spending about two of our three and a half weeks in this area and it will be so good to see my friends and family, go to the beach everyday and Dan will love being able to surf everyday. We’ve also got a camping trip planned with all my uni mates not far from Port in a place called Point Plomer which is gorgeous and we cannot wait! It’s also whale migration season so we may go whale watching too.
However, the main reason we’re going to Australia this year is for my brother’s wedding. Sam and Brooke’s wedding is being held at the Gold Coast which is where they live and we cannot wait to see them get married and share in their special day. We’re also going to make the most of our few days at the Gold Coast and spend our spare time at the beach, visit a few theme parks and also Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary so that Dan can cuddle a Koala!
We will still be blogging whilst we are away so you’ll be able to follow all our Aussie adventures on here (& Instagram, Facebook & Twitter of course)!
We’d love some recommendations of excellent cafe’s/restaurants to visit in Sydney and/or the Gold Coast whilst we are there. Please let us know if you have any!
