Before I moved to the UK, Zebu Bar + Grill in Port Macquarie was one of my favourite places to meet friends to catch up over dinner and drinks. It is one of the most popular restaurants and bars in the town with both locals and holiday makers alike, which is not surprising given its iconic waterfront location.
Zebu is a venue that has something for everyone, with more formal dining in its Restaurant and a relaxed casual dining area which serves as a café during the day and a bar at night!
Dan and I wanted to spend as much time with my family as we could on our recent trip back to Australia. We met my Dad for coffee one day after he had finished night shift. He’s a paramedic and I’ll happily admit I am a daddy’s girl and seriously proud he is my Dad!
He looks pretty good too considering he just finished a 12 hour night shift!
Zebu is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the view. With floor to roof windows it doesn’t matter where you are sitting because you’ll still be able to take in the view. I love that on previous visits whilst having lunch or drinks with friends we have spotted pods of dolphins playing in the river!
We hadn’t planned on eating but everyone else’s food around us smelt so good that we couldn’t resist and decided to share a pizza. Zebu have a large selection of wood fired pizzas in addition to their wide menu and daily specials boards.
I love Pizza. I won’t lie, if it was healthy there is a good chance I would eat it daily! It is also perhaps one of the reasons why Italy is my favourite country in the world…
I loved the look of the vegetarian pizzas but couldn’t argue with the meat loving boys who opted for an Australiano Pizza with crispy bacon, pancetta, double smoked ham, spanish onion, egg, oregano and mozzarella.
The food was arrived quickly and was really hot and freshly cooked which we really enjoyed.
The service is fairly relaxed as you order and pay at the counter, but all the staff we interacted with throughout our visit could not have been more friendly. Though if I worked somewhere with the view they have I certainly would be pretty happy too!
With million dollar views, a relaxed yet stylish atmosphere and excellent menu, it is a dining location where you could easily and happily wile away many hours!
