On our recent trip to Australia, we spent out our first night in Sydney at the beautiful Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel. Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel is a stylish, chic hotel located on the shores of enviable, beautiful Watsons Bay in Sydney Harbour. Watsons Bay is a naturally beautiful, relaxed and peaceful location in Sydney and we had a fantastic stay at this truly iconic and unique destination hotel. It was the perfect way to begin our trip!
We arrived at the hotel having organised a transfer from Sydney Airport to the hotel with hoppa, and highly recommend them for anyone requiring transport from the Airport to the hotel! Watsons Bay is a relaxed and beautiful part of Sydney and is easily accessible from the city or from Manly by ferries. The hotel is located right on the waterfront and boasts one of the most enviable and stunning locations in all of Sydney! Guests at the hotel also have access to complimentary bicycle and fishing rod hire which is perfect given the location and is a little extra touch we loved!
We stayed in a Watsons Loft Room, an enormous room that looks out over beautiful Robertson Park. Our room had a very comfortable king size bed downstairs with fresh, soft linen and pillows and two twin beds upstairs making the room perfect for a family. The room aso had a desk, flat screen TV, ensuite bathroom, a lovely balcony, airconditioning, free wifi and tea and coffee making facilities. We loved the decor which features wooden furniture, white french doors and a real beachy, chic theme which suited the destination perfectly. The room allowed a lot of natural light though and had all the modern fittings and everything you could want or need to completely relax and enjoy your stay. A number of the 31 rooms in the hotel also offer full panoramic harbour views!
The stylish, luxurious marble bathroom was modern, spacious, spotlessly clean and featured a separate bath and shower. The bath was enormous and the perfect place to relax after a 48 hour flight from the UK! Bathrobes and plenty of fluffy towels were provided and I loved the pampering, luxurious toiletries from Australian designer, Peter Morrissey!
After a big day exploring Watsons Bay and Manly we decided to head to the Beach Club, the onsite bar and restaurant for dinner and a few drinks. The Beach Club is a very relaxed location that prides itself in serving fresh, seasonal food and a wide selection of local and international wines, craft beers and delicious cocktails. It is a perfect location to have a drink and relax whilst watching a gorgeous sunset over the iconic Sydney Harbour. We had dinner at the Beach Club and did enjoy our meals, which were of a standard pub quality but felt the service was lacking which unfortunately let our night down a little. I would still recommend the Beach Club as a venue to have a drink and enjoy the view.
The next morning jet lag got the best of both of us hours before sunrise and so we decided to make the most of it and catch the sunrise. We walked the short walk up to Sydney Harbour National Park and The Gap lookout. It was the most breathtaking sunrise and a perfect way to start our day. The hotel is ideally located to experience an incredible sunrise from countless stunning locations along the coastline and harbour.
After our early start & morning walk we were starving! We headed down to the lovely sunset room where breakfast is served for hotel guests. The breakfast is an Australian continental breakfast with plenty of options available! The buffet ranged from fresh fruit, to fresh fruit juices, tea, coffee, fresh pastries, boiled eggs, cereals, yoghurts, cheese, cold meats and toast. It was a very fresh, delicious breakfast that we really enjoyed!
Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel is a popular location for weddings in Sydney and we can understand why! There was a wedding being held whilst we were there and we couldn’t have thought of a more perfect place for a wedding, especially as most of our readers know we recently got engaged & have started wedding planning which I am loving!
We had an excellent stay at Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel. The hotel is stylish, unique and an iconic destination in Sydney. We loved the beachy chic aesthetic and relaxed atmosphere. The hotel has one of the most enviable locations in Sydney and is a truly unique destination hotel. It was the perfect way to begin our Australia trip!
