Five Star Valverde Hotel is a luxurious hotel located on Avenida da Liberdade, Lisbon’s most exclusive avenue. The hotel has been inspired by the beautiful, elegant town houses in the cosmopolitan cities of London and New York. Valverde Hotel is a small, exclusive hotel with 25 rooms and suites and offers guests the ultimate in luxury, comfort and refined elegance. We loved the classic, elegant decor which has been created with a combination of bespoke furniture, vibrant colours, antique paintings and an excellent eye for style and detail. For many, Valverde Hotel will feel more like a private home than a hotel and the professional, passionate staff will ensure everything is done to make your stay at Valverde Hotel perfect!
Opened in 2014, Valverde Hotel is a fairly new hotel in a city which is very popular with tourists and they must certainly be doing something right to have so quickly risen to the first position on TripAdvisor out of all the hotels in Lisbon! The excellent service we received from the moment we stepped through the front doors until the moment we left is a testament to that fact. Valverde Hotel was created with the concept of reinterpreting the memories of the historical days on the old Avenue. Valverde Hotel provides an elegant and luxurious stay in the heart of the busy avenue where the service is focused on the guests where every need and request is met. We were given an excellent introduction to Lisbon by the concierge in the comfortable and relaxing Lounge which overlooked the Avenue below before checking in and heading upstairs for a guided tour of our suite.
Valverde Hotel has 25 rooms in five different categories being Mini, Classic & Deluxe Rooms and Juinor Suites and Suites. We were staying in the Avenida Suite which was a beautiful, elegant and luxurious suite that had a spacious bedroom and lounge in addition to a gorgeous marble bathroom. Our suite was incredibly spacious measuring over 55 square metres and we loved our sixth floor location and three antique windows which overlooked the beautiful Avenida Da Liberdade below and across the beautiful rooftops of Lisbon. The room was exceptionally comfortable and included everything we could possibly want or need including high speed internet access, a flat screen television, air conditioning, a coffee machine, minibar and excellent black out blinds which along with our wonderfully comfortable bed and the highest quality linens ensured we slept perfectly. Our location on the top floor meant our luxurious suite had a mansard roof and we felt the room was perfectly styled and organised around this. The decor was elegant with bright red, green, blue and yellow fabrics, bespoke antique furniture and topped off with beautiful paintings. Our bathroom was gorgeous and featured marble tiles throughout and a large bathtub, rainfall shower and separate toilet along with soft towels, bathrobes, luxurious toiletries and a hair dryer. We felt very relaxed and at home in our Avenida Suite and thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
Adjacent to the restaurant and bar is the stylish patio area which features a beautifully landscaped garden bursting with trees, ferns, shrubs and flowers and a lovely heated swimming pool equipped with water jets. The patio, pool and garden areas are a beautiful oasis that is the perfect environment to relax in one of the sun lounges or many seating areas. Unfortunately it was raining during our stay and so we didn’t get the opportunity to relax outside but the area looked fantastic and would especially be perfect on a sunny Lisbon day! There is also a food and beverage service where you can order meals throughout the day to enjoy in the outdoor patio.
The Restaurant and Bar “Sitio de Valverde” is a very elegant and exclusive venue with its high ceilings and beautiful, vintage furniture and decor. The Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner as well as snacks and meals at any time of the day. The Chef Carla Sousa offers a signature cuisine which is primarily focused on Portuguese cuisine. The bar is also exceptionally well stocked and there is an excellent wine list as well as an exciting signature cocktail menu!
Breakfast was a wonderful experience in the restaurant with a wonderful continental buffet made up of cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cheese, cold meats and delicious freshly cooked breads and pastries along with delicious freshly squeezed orange juice and tea and coffee. Hot breakfasts are cooked to order and include eggs cooked anyway you like, pancakes and other hot breakfast items. We ordered poached eggs and they were outstanding and cooked to perfection! The lovely breakfast staff in the restaurant were warm, friendly and professional and we truly received wonderful service with a smile and they are a credit to the hotel!
Valverde Hotel is ideally located in the heart of one of Lisbon’s most exclusive streets, Avenida da Liberdade. Avenida da Liberdade is a beautiful, wide, tree-lined street that was built between 1879 and 1882 in the same style as the Champs-Elysées in Paris and is the home of many of Lisbon’s most exclusive luxury shops, mansions, theatres, cafes and beautiful buildings. The central location of the hotel means that it is possibly to walk to the majority of Lisbon’s main tourist attractions from the hotel without needing to take public transport or a taxi. The hotel is also only a minute’s walk from the nearest metro station and approximately a 15 minute drive from Lisbon Airport. We loved the central location which meant we could explore this beautiful city on foot.
Valverde Hotel is a luxurious and elegant hotel located in one of Lisbon’s most exclusive areas. The hotel has a refined elegant style and decor which makes the it feel more like a private residence than a hotel. The staff were professional and helpful during out stay and went above and beyond to ensure our time at the hotel was fantastic. We loved our luxurious suite which very quickly felt like home and would recommend Valverde Hotel to anyone looking for an elegant hotel in Lisbon’s most luxurious and sought after neighbourhood.
