Careful use of natural materials including stone, wood and lime paints have helped to preserve the unique character of the protected architectural heritage landmark. Frescoes, architectural details and other remnants of the hotel’s illustrious past can still be seen in the property today, creating an authentic, elegant and enchanting atmosphere.

Antiq Palace Hotel & Spa has 18 spacious suites and boutique rooms, each individually designed and luxuriously decorated in a contemporary and elegant style, and accompanied by the latest amenities. We were staying in a Deluxe Double Suite which was a gorgeous room with high ceilings, original wooden flooring, a comfortable king sized bed and original windows which boast an incredible view of Ljubljana Castle. One of the most incredible features of our room was the remnants of a 300 year old fresco on the ceiling of our room! Our room was spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated and furnished. It is the perfect place in Ljubljana for a luxurious, elegant stay in an incredible protected architectural heritage landmark building. In addition our room also had air conditioning, free wireless internet, a flat screen TV, kettle, tea and coffee maker, mini bar and hair dryer!
Our marble bathroom was spotlessly clean and had a shower over bath. Toiletries, fluffy towels, bathrobes and soft slippers were also provided for our use and our room was cleaned to perfection each morning,
The hotel is built around a beautiful private garden and terrace which blends perfectly with the natural beauty of Slovenia. It would be the perfect place to relax in the sunshine with a book or a drink. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t ideal for us but it was still beautiful to overlook the courtyard and garden as we walked to our room or walked through the ground floor of the hotel.
The Antiq Palace Spa is a luxurious sanctuary within the beautiful walls of the tranquil, elegant Antiq Palace Hotel. The spa centre offers luxurious treatments and the therapists ensure each guest receives a holistic and relaxing experience for the mind, body and spirit whilst using the best organic products.
The Spa Centre also includes a massage spa bath, three types of saunas (Finnish, Turkish and Infra-red) and a gym which had a range of cardiovascular equipment and free weights in addition to the exceptional Kinesis Wall which is designed to provide exercises that combine flexibility, core stability, coordination and balance. It is possible to hire the spa and fitness centre for yourself for a few hours and we did just that and had a very relaxing morning using the saunas and spa. Everything is spotlessly clean, well maintained and set in a very calm, beautiful environment ensuring the ultimate in relaxation!
Breakast at the hotel is a lovely continental buffet breakfast with freshly cooked breads and pastries, cheeses, cold meats, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, tea, coffee, sparkling line and eggs cooked to order (the poached eggs were absolutely delicious)! Breakfast is served by the fireplace and when it is warm in the summer guests can choose to dine in the charming, historic garden.
Antiq Palace & Spa is a charming, elegant hotel ideally located in Ljubljana and we had a fantastic, relaxing stay there during our time in Ljubljana. The hotel certainly deserves its membership as one of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World and we’d certainly recommend it for an elegant and luxurious stay in Ljubljana.
