Located in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Dubrovnik, the Berkeley Hotel offers a beautiful boutique hotel with a collection of modern and elegantly furnished rooms and apartments. The hotel is conveniently located in Dubrovnik’s Gruz Harbour which provides guests with a quiet, cosy atmosphere away from the business of the Old Town yet the convenience of being close to everything in this wonderful city. The Berkeley Hotel is family owned and operated and it is evident their passion for warm, friendly and professional service and hospitality to ensure guests find their ‘home away from home’ in beautiful Dubrovnik.
We arrived in Dubrovnik from Mostar where we’d spent a short but sweet 24 hours exploring the city, luckily our time in Dubrovnik was to be much longer! We arrived into the bus station which is also near the port and which is less than a 5 minute walk from Hotel Dubrovnik which was fantastic! We found Berkeley Hotel’s location in Gruz Harbour to be fantastic and very convenient as it was close to all of Dubrovnik’s transport links which makes it a great base to explore Dubrovnik and the surrounding areas! Visitors to Dubrovnik will certainly want to visit the Old City which is only a 20-30 minute scenic walk from the hotel (about 2.5km). If you don’t feel like walking there is also a local bus line only a few minutes walk away or it is only €10 by taxi!
We had no problems finding the hotel and were warmly welcomed and made to feel at home from the moment we arrived. Every member of staff we came across throughout our stay was warm, friendly and very helpful and the service was faultless. The Berkeley Hotel caters to individual travelers and small groups of friends/ family travelling together and do not accept large tour groups as they prfer to offer individual and personalised treatment to all their guests which we loved!
The Berkeley Hotel has 24 rooms and apartments which are all modernly and elegantly furnished, some with sea views. We stayed in a Double Room which was spacious, comfortable, modern and very relaxing with a warm décor. Our room featured a very comfortable king sized bed with quality linens and comfortable pillows along with a desk, mini bar and tea and coffee making facilities. Our room was also equipped with air conditioning, high speed wireless internet, a terrace area and black-out shutters which ensure maximum peace and quiet for guests. Our en-suite bathroom was modern and spotlessly clean with a lovely, hot shower!
Dubrovnik’s only boutique spa is located on level 1 of the Berkeley Hotel and offers a full range of Dermalogica facial and body treatments, OPI manicure and pedicure treatments, waxing and a range of massages that will leave you feeling rejuvenated.
The Berekeley Hotel also has a large, heated outdoor pool with a jacuzzi, sun deck area with lounges and a handy honesty bar where you can help yourself to a refreshing drink. It is the perfect way to relax and cool down after a long day exploring the city!
Located on the ground floor next to reception is the Berkeley Bar which offers a selection of local wines, spirits, liqueurs along with coffee, tea and cold drinks. Breakfast is also served here each morning and includes a continental breakfast buffet along with hot dishes to order as well as juices, tea and coffee. It was a fantastic, hearty breakfast with plenty of fresh, delicious breakfast items to choose from, the perfect way to start your day in Dubrovnik!
We had a wonderful time in Dubrovnik with Berkeley Hotel. The owners and staff were so lovely, welcoming and friendly and truly went out of their way to ensure we, along with all their guests had an incredible stay both at Berkeley Hotel and in Dubrovnik. The location was perfect for us as we didn’t mind the walk into town and it was ideally located close to all the transport options including the ferry port which was great as we took a kayak tour around the Elafiti Islands one day during our stay! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Berkeley Hotel to anyone visiting Dubrovnik, our stay was fantastic!
