Located a few steps from the iconic Piazza San Marco and just in front of the church of Santa Maria della Salute, the most beautiful church of the Italian Baroque, The Westin Europa & Regina has an incredible, unrivalled position in Venice. It is located on the final and most magnificent stretch of the Grand Canal where it widens to become the Bacino di San Marco. The Westin Europa & Regina is a stunning hotel that oozes history, elegance and luxury and choosing to stay here ensures you will have a pampering, unforgettable experience in what we believe is the most wonderful hotel in all of Venice.
The Westin Europa & Regina has an incredible history and is the result of the joining of five beautiful eighteenth and nineteenth century houses. The oldest palace belonged to the Tiepolos, the illustrious Venetian family that gave the city two “doges” and the seventeenth century painter Giambattista Tiepolo. Throughout its history it has always been considered to be of the highest standard and has welcomed illustrious guests of every sort to the hotel.
The Westin Europa & Regina has 185 guest rooms and suites that are decorated in either the Grand Venetian style of 18th century Venice with a colour palette of ivory and lapis lazuli or a traditional period style of blues, greys, and orange. Every beautiful room and suite in the hotel is decorated to the highest standard and ensures an incredibly relaxing and elegant stay in one of the most luxurious hotels in all of Venice. Our favourite features of the rooms were the high ceilings, elegant furnishings, lavish decor, stunning Murano glass chandeliers, the signature Westin Heavenly Bed and of course the incredible views. The rooms and suites at the Westin Europe & Regina have either views of the Grand Canal or city views. We were lucky enough to have a tour of the hotel and had a peek into a number of the stunning suites of the hotel, a number of which have incredible terraces that overlook the terracotta rooftops and islands of Venice.
We were speechless the moment we stepped into our gorgeous double room which had a terrace overlooking the Grand Canal. We’re lucky enough to travel extensively and spend more nights in hotels than at home and we’re happy to say that our room at The Westin Europa & Regina was the most beautiful and elegant room we’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Our stay in Venice is one we’ll never forget and our beautiful room played a huge role in that.
Our room was spacious with incredibly high ceilings, beautiful original wooden floors, a magnificent Murano Glass chandelier, floor to ceiling drapes and decorated in the beautiful Grand Venetian style which we loved. We had comfortable lounge chairs, a desk, beautiful bespoke furniture, fresh flowers and of course, an incredible Heavenly Bed. It was our first stay in a Westin Hotel and we can honestly say that it was one of the best beds we’ve ever slept in, and certainly ensured we slept perfectly and woke up wonderfully refreshed the next day! The Heavenly Bed is designed to promote a superior sleep from their crispy, white 250 thread count sheets to the down duvets, plush pillows and pillow-top mattresses, it was truly heavenly! In addition our room was also equipped with essential modern amenities such as free high speed wireless internet, a TV, safe, telephone and plenty of storage space.
Our gorgeous Italian marble bathroom was modern, spotlessly clean and featured a separate Heavenly Bath and Shower along with plush towels and bathrobes as well as indulgent ETRO toiletries.
One of the most magnificent features of our room would have certainly been our incredible balcony which offered panoramic water views of Venice which swept across the Grand Canal to the romantic island of San Giorgio, across to Pinault’s Punta della Dogana and the beautiful Santa Maria della Salute Church. Standing on our balcony sipping on the finest Prosecco and watching gondolas paddle by, vaporettos and water taxi’s motor past was a people watching experience like no other, and it was a view, memory and experience that we’ll certainly never forget.
The Westin Europa & Regina has incredible dining venues which are all located on the ground floor and offer breathtaking water views of Venice and the Grand Canal. You can discover the region’s finest ingredients and reinvented Cuisine of Executive Chef Alberto Fol in Restaurant La Cusina and in relaxing Bar Tiepolo you can enjoy light Venetian snacks, drinks and refreshing signature cocktails with one of the best views in all of Venice. You can also be sure to Eat Well with delicious Superfoods dishes that are packed with nutrients and energy to ensure the optimal nutritional value and keep you happy, healthy and fit on your holidays.
Breakfast is served in La Cusina Restaurant which overlooks the beautiful Santa Maria della Salute Church and we were lucky enough to get a table by the window! The SuperFoods buffet breakfast is one of the best we’ve had in all our travels and there is more than enough options to please even the fussiest of eaters! The buffet had a wide range of cooked breakfast items as well as continental, fresh fruit, an incredible juice bar and an amazing selection of freshly baked cakes, breads and pastries. Breakfast at the Westin Europa & Regina is packed with nutrients and energy which ensures it is the perfect way to start your day in Venice!
Our stay at The Westin Europa & Regina was incredible and an experience we will never forget. Our room was absolutely divine, the hotel had the best location in Venice, the views were unbeatable and the staff were attentive, professional and went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of our stay was perfect.
