During our recent visit to beautiful Kotor we booked a two night stay at the new Hotel Porto In which is a stylish, four star boutique hotel located within a few minutes walk to all the main sites of the town. The hotel is an excellent choice for visitors to Montenegro who are seeking an elegant, relaxing and affordable stay in a great location. Being a very new hotel it is very modern, beautifully styled and equipped with state of the art technology and everything you could possibly need for a great stay in beautiful Kotor!
The hotel is a beautiful boutique hotel with 17 rooms comprised of 6 Superior rooms and 11 Standard rooms. We were staying in one of the Superior Rooms which was a spacious, comfortable and stylish double room with air conditioning and a terrace overlooking the town. Our room was very comfortable and elegantly styled and also contained a smart TV, minibar and free Wi-Fi which worked perfectly throughout our stay. The only thing that wasn’t perfect during our stay was the air-conditioning which wouldn’t change temperature but luckily it wasn’t too hot during our visit. We also appreciated the black out window shutters which transformed the room into complete darkness of a night and also blocked out any noise on the street below!
Our balcony was fantastic and was the perfect place to relax and have a drink after a day of hiking or sightseeing in Kotor. We were on the first floor and had beautiful views across to the fortress and the rooms on the higher floors have views of the bay.
Our marble bathroom was stylish, spotlessly clean and we appreciated the lovely robes, toiletries and soft, fluffy towels that were provided.
The hotel has a restaurant which offers international specialities as well as typical Montenegro dishes and cuisine, prepared using the freshest of ingredients. The restaurant is elegant and cosy and is also where breakfast is served each morning. Breakfast consists of a continental breakfast along with tea and coffee as well as dishes cooked to order including omelettes and eggs cooked any way along with other hot breakfast dishes. The restaurant staff were lovely and friendly and the breakfast was plentiful and lovely and fresh, it was a great start to our day hiking up to the fortress!
Kotor is a stunning town in Montenegro and well worth spending a few days in during your time in the Balkans. Settled under the looming Lovcen mountain and at the very beginning of the beautiful gulf it attracts visitors from all over the world! In addition to the incredible natural beauty of Kotor, there is also the UNESCO World Heritage Old Town, City Walls and Fortress that are a must visit during your time in beautiful Kotor. We hiked the fortress and also Lovcen mountain during our stay which offered the most breathtaking views of the Bay of Kotor and surrounds! The fortress is also illuminated at night and is truly a magical view! We loved Hotel Porto In’s location as it was ideally located half way between the bus station and the Old Town. It was less than five minute walk into the Old Town and was located on a nice, quiet, leafy street just one block back from the water.
Our stay at Hotel Porto In Kotor was fantastic. The hotel was ideally located close to all the main sites but in a quiet neighbourhood only a few minutes walk from the hustle and bustle of the Old Town which gets incredible busy when there is cruise ships in town. The staff were friendly and helpful and our room was lovely and comfortable as well as being very reasonably priced for a four star hotel! We had a great stay and would certainly book Hotel Porto In on a future holiday to Kotor and Montenegro.
