Hotel Splendid Conference and Spa Resort is located in the charming town of Becici in Montenegro only 3 kilometres from Budva. The hotel was opened in 2006 and became the first Five Star hotel on the Eastern Coast of the Adriatic Sea and boasts an amazing sea front location and its own private beach. During our recent visit to Montenegro we spent two nights at beautiful Splendid Hotel and it was the perfect destination to switch off for a few days and relax in luxury! The hotel has everything you could possibly want or need meaning you don’t even have to leave the resort during your stay if you don’t want to! The hotel has four bars, three restaurants, the largest Spa in Montenegro and a Casino, in addition it is also the largest conference centre venue in Montenegro. The beachfront resort boasts some of the best five star hotel facilities in all of Montenegro and we loved every moment of our stay there.
Splendid Hotel has 322 standard rooms, most of which have sea views as well as 4 suites and 13 apartments, a penthouse and presidential apartments for VIP guests! The hotel has seen an impressive amount of famous people and VIP guests including UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, US President Bill Clinton, Madonna, the Rolling Stones, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt and Russian astronaut Oleg Kotov just to name a few!
Our Superior Room was very spacious, beautifully decorated in a elegant, traditional style and contained all the modern amenities and conveniences you’d expect in a five star hotel. Our room was very luxurious and comfortable with a wonderful bed with soft linens, a desk, lounge, table, air conditioning, flat screen TV, mini bar and high speed wireless internet. In addition to being an extremely spacious room we also had plenty of storage and cupboard space.
Our spacious marble bathroom was beautiful and spotlessly clean with a large bathtub and separate shower. Bathrobes, towels and indulgent toiletries were also provided which we greatly appreciated!
Our room was located on the 9th floor of the hotel, just below the hotel’s Casino and had an amazing, large balcony with outdoor furniture which offered breathtaking views of the hotel’s pools below and the gorgeous beach, sea and coastline of Montenegro.
The hotel has a beautiful outdoor pool area that boasts three beautiful pools with spas, waterfalls and jets. The pools are located among beautifully landscapes gardens and are an oasis of relaxation with plenty of sun loungers available and towels which can be borrowed free of charge from the hotel.
The Splendid Spa is the first full-service spa in Montenegro and offers the highest quality beauty treatments and Spa experiences in the country in Montenegro’s most exclusive destination. The hotel also has a spacious Wellness Lounge with three indoor pools, a fitness centre, five different saunas, a snow shower, experience showers and much more all which are included free of charge for guests of the hotel. The facilities are excellent, luxurious and in top condition and we spent a lot of time each day relaxing by the pools and working up a sweat in the saunas (the experience showers are also well worth trying during your time in the wellness area too!)
The hotel also has a private beach with deck chairs and umbrellas which are reserved for the exclusive use of guests only. The beach is mostly sandy with some stones closer to the sea and the sea is wonderful and clean and we loved swimming there every day of our stay!
The hotel has four bars and three restaurants serving different cuisines and we’d booked a full board package for our stay which included breakfast, lunch and dinner each day in La Bussola, the hotel’s all day dining restaurant. Located on the second floor of the hotel, the restaurant offers delicious, contemporary Mediterranean cuisine, as well as traditional Montenegrin and international dishes. The restaurant is warm and welcoming and each meal is served as a buffet. There is an impressive and extensive selection of foods to choose from for each meal, with the menu slightly differing each day. It is by far the most impressive selection of foods we’ve had in a hotel during our travels and there is something to please even the fussiest of eaters! The food is all high quality and very fresh and the staff were professional, attentive and very helpful throughout every dining experience we had in the hotel.
Our stay in Budva at Hotel Splendid was absolutely fantastic in every way. The hotel is beautiful, luxurious and everything you could possibly want or need is offered in the hotel meaning you don’t even have to leave throughout your stay if you don’t want to. After two months of travelling we welcomed our break in Budva at Hotel Splendid with open arms and spent our two nights here lounging by the pool, swimming in the sea, eating a lot of amazing food, enjoying the spa facilities and relaxing on our balcony. It is a beautiful hotel with excellent facilities and the service we received from the staff we came across throughout our stay was top notch. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a stay at Hotel Splendid for your holiday to Budva and would love to return ourselves one day!
