London is one of the biggest and most exciting cities in the world. It is a city you’d truly never tire of and there is something on offer for everyone! It is however, renowned for being very expensive with its high cost of living and transportation costs, actually ranking it in the top ten world’s most expensive cities. When I first moved to the UK from Australia I was shocked by the price of public transport and how much it cost to commute each week! Leading online travel agency, loveholidays has created a really interesting interactive tube map that allows you to see how far the cost of your weekly rent and and tube travel would take you on holidays! I don’t know about you but I would happily swap any week of work and reality for a week in the sunshine in Europe (ideally on an island paradise)!
[spacer height=”10px”]We all have to work in order to live and have holidays but each week you are spending enough on rent and transport to go on a full holiday abroad! By trading a week of London commuting for a week-long potentially all-inclusive holiday you may even end up spending less!
All you need to do is enter your daily commute on loveholidays holiday finder tube map and follow the track to discover some of the amazing holiday destinations that your average week of rent and tube travel can take you! You may be able to swap your weekly commute costs for a week on the Greek islands, the stunning Algarve in Portugal or maybe even a week of island hopping! Does a city break sound more up your alley? Then swap your commute for a week in the 2018 European City of Culture, Valletta on the beautiful island of Malta!
Booking your next holiday with loveholidays literally couldn’t be easier. You can find your ideal holiday destination using their unique search function that allows you to search based on weather, board basis and budget, rather than the usual date and destination! We really enjoyed playing around with the tube map because sometimes it is so easy to get caught up in the daily grind and not enjoy your hard earned pennies! This shows you that you don’t have to save for years for that dream holiday and it doesn’t have to be ridiculously expensive to have a week getaway!
London is an amazing city but I honestly can’t imagine there is anyone who would say no to swapping their usual working week and London commute for a week in the sun anywhere in Europe!
The thing I miss the least about living in the UK is the weather and the high cost of living and the thing I miss the most about the UK is having all these wonderful destinations literally on our doorstep! Have a play, check out the tube map and see where your next holiday could take you!
