Our honeymoon was full of bucket-list experiences including staying in an overwater bungalow in the Maldives, ticking off a seaplane trip and going on safari in Sri Lanka! We’d splurged on an all-inclusive package in the Maldives because hey, it was our honeymoon! We also decided to book a very special breakfast in-villa Maldives floating breakfast for the second last day of our honeymoon. It was magical and a unique experience and we luckily just managed to finish before the rain arrived!
We’d booked an overwater bungalow with a private infinity pool which was incredible!
One of our favourite aspects of our villa was our private infinity pool! It was absolutely gorgeous and the perfect honeymoon indulgence. We spent hours in our pool each day, watching either sunset or sunrise, reading books and of course, drinking champagne! I could never get sick of the endless blues from the pool, lagoon, sea and sky… The private pool also made it possible for us to have the floating breakfast experience.
When we booked we were able to select the time frame in addition to various food choices! Our breakfast arrived at 7am and consisted of a cooked breakfast along with cheese, cold meats, pastries, toast, tea & coffee, juice and of course, champagne!
Whilst not the most practical for everyday dining, our Maldives floating breakfast was a unique experience that we loved and definitely made for some great photos. It wasn’t the sunniest day of our honeymoon, but still super warm and we managed to enjoy our breakfast and most importantly, finish the bottle of champagne before the rain hit!
Also R.I.P to the pepper grinder that I knocked into the pool and had to dive down to save.
