Like any big city, Perth is full of amazing things to see and do. Plan out your perfect Western Australia holiday with these top Perth attractions by RedBalloon and enjoy your time in the glorious, Western Australia city.
The Blue Boat House
The Blue Boat House is an iconic and unique attraction on the scenic Mounts Bay Road in Perth. Tourists flock from all over the world to enjoy the scenery surrounding the Boat House and the tranquility that a simple, lone, blue building offers. Perfect for just relaxing by or capturing the perfect photo.
The beaches
Perth beaches are some of the best in the world. Sure, people talk about the east coast beaches like they’re heaven on earth, but the west coast beaches are just as stunning and have the bonus of watching the sunset over the glistening Indian Ocean. There are plenty of great Perth beaches to discover, but some of our favourites are City Beach—named for its proximity to the hustle and bustle of Perth, great for a quick dip and then back to the rest of your day—Swanbourne beach, and of course Cottesloe beach, which is perhaps Perth’s most beloved beach. Grab your towels and sunscreen and enjoy a dip in the water or just a walk along the beach.
The Perth Cultural Centre
Who doesn’t love discovering cultural, arty attractions when they visit a city? The Perth Cultural Centre brings all the must-see cultural buildings together so you can visit them all in one day. Here you’ll find the Art Gallery of Western Australia, the Blue Room Theatre, the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts, the State Theatre Centre, the Western Australian Museum, and the state library! For those that like to linger and take their time wandering through galleries and museums, they might have to make the Cultural Centre a two-day adventure.
The Perth Zoo
The Perth Zoo is a great day out for all ages. Kids will love seeing these animals up close, and of course, so will the adults. Peek at the adorable Fairy Penguins, the impressive Sumatran Tigers, and the interesting Binturong. There are plenty more animals to spy on while you’re at the zoo. Plus, if you’re with kids, it’s a great way to tire them out so you can enjoy a relaxing evening.
Perth Food
Long days spent wandering around a zoo or a gallery will work up an appetite. Thankfully, there are some truly great restaurants to enjoy, and not to mention the great bars that are perfect for a cocktail or two for an evening nightcap.
