Dan and I are both total foodies, so when it came to booking our honeymoon in the Maldives, we knew we would need to choose a resort with multiple high-quality dining options. When we came across LUX* we knew we were onto a winner, as it is one of the largest island resorts in the Maldives. With an extensive choice of 8 restaurants and 5 bars, we knew we had found the resort for us! Every restaurant and bar at LUX* had a unique style, vibe and cuisine and we loved them all for different reasons. One of the best decisions we made prior to our trip was booking an all-inclusive package which meant we could enjoy any of the restaurants and bars on the island without having to worry about the cost. Here is our guide to wining and dining at LUX* South Ari Atoll, a haven for foodies and honeymooners in the Maldives.
The Cornish stretch of coastline is home to some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. If there was ever a place in the UK where we would like to settle down, we would choose Cornwall in a heartbeat. Cornwall’s coastal towns and villages are picture perfect with whitewashed fishermen’s cottages, sandy beaches and picturesque harbours with bobbing fishing boats. Cornwall’s villages are bursting with history, majestic ruins, scenic walks, incredible local cuisine and quaint seaside holiday cottages. Each town and village has their own unique character, beauty and reasons to stay, and so here is our guide to some of the most charming and picturesque villages in Cornwall.
London often gets a bad reputation for being miserable and grey, mostly thanks to the weather. However, it may surprise a lot of people to know just how many bright, colourful places there are around London to visit! From pastel townhouses to pretty in pink cafes and bakeries, to street art, parks and pubs, there really is colour in every corner of London. Here are our favourite colourful places in London that are sure to brighten up your day!
The Maldives has no shortage of overwater bungalows and we had the toughest choice deciding which resort to book for our honeymoon. After what seemed like weeks of research, we settled on LUX* in the beautiful South Ari Atoll thanks to their gorgeous overwater bungalows and rave reviews from previous guests! LUX* is one of the larger resorts in the Maldives, being able to accommodate up to about 300 people and even though we visited during peak season when they were at capacity, it never felt busy and most of the time we were completely on our own. Guests are able to choose between a number of different beach and water villas, ensuring the perfect villa for you and your loved one! As we were on our honeymoon we decided to treat ourselves to a Romantic Pool Water Villa which came complete with infinity pool, love nest and home theatre system! In our opinion, it was the ultimate in overwater bungalows and we wanted to move in… forever!
After a whirlwind tour of Sri Lanka, we boarded our hour flight to Male, the capital of the Maldives, or as I like to call it, Heaven on Earth! The Maldives have always been my ultimate honeymoon destination and it almost didn’t feel real to finally be there! I actually had butterflies as I was so excited to be visiting (and honeymooning) in a place which has been at the top of my bucket list for as long as I can remember. For our honeymoon we had completely splurged and booked 7 nights at LUX* South Ari Atoll in one of their Romantic Pool Water Villas. I don’t think I will ever forget a moment of our seaplane trip over the beautiful islands and atolls of the Maldives, to landing at LUX* and seeing our overwater bungalow for the very first time. The Maldives were honestly the most magical of honeymoon destinations and both of us have agreed many times since that it was worth every cent for a honeymoon experience in paradise that we will truly never forget.
Spring is well and truly on its way in the UK and Europe and those memories of the ‘Beast from the East‘, seemingly endless snow and scraping ice off your car windscreen will soon be long gone. One of my favourite memories from living in England was at the end of each winter, when the daffodils would start to bloom everywhere you looked. It was a sign that spring really was just around the corner! Seeing spring flowers bloom is one of the best ways to banish winter blues and thankfully, the UK and Europe are home to some of the most magical spring flowers! Here are some of our favourite places to get a good dose of spring blooms!
Dan and I have had a huge year, we moved across the world, got married, honeymooned in the Maldives and Sri Lanka and a month ago purchased our first home! It certainly wasn’t an easy process but thanks to our organisation we didn’t end up too stressed. We are loving being homeowners but there are also a lot of important administrative things we need to do in order to keep on top of everything! Sorting out your life admin can be tough but also super satisfying – and our friends at Noble Oak here to help!
